Southwestern Ontario

University of Ottawa, University of Victoria, University of Alberta

Why did you choose to work in the field of speech and language therapy?

Definitely helping children find their voice, in any way possible.  Nothing is more exciting than a child’s first word (whether that be a gesture, sign, sound, voice output, or a spoken word).

What was a fulfilling moment in your career?

The first time I presented at a large conference, it felt scary, but also exciting to have others be interested in learning from you.

What do you love about Regina Speech Centre?

I love the chance it gives me to be creative in our field.  I am able to offer courses and groups that are interesting and different, and that I have always wanted to be part of.  I also love our dedicated and funny staff.  They really help make it a family.

What’s another profession you would be if not an SLP?

A play therapist.

My family.

How do you like to spend holidays?

Either skiing, or in the middle of the wilderness completely unplugged with my family and a canoe!
